My Experience and Credentials
After spending 23 years as a successful media professional and TV anchor, I decided to follow my inner voice and start over in the sphere of mental health. I was formally trained and acquired certifications in counselling modalities like Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT), Transactional Analysis and Carl Rogers’ Client-centred Therapy.
However, I believe that an effective counsellor needs to have a lot more than good qualifications! You need to have a deep passion for self-improvement along with empathy, genuine respect and strong communication skills.
I have a holistic approach to health and wellbeing, and believe that one must understand all the aspects of a person’s life – their beliefs, habits, lifestyle, career, family and physical environment – before offering them improvement approaches. What works for one person may not work for another. A large part of my work is to help people understand themselves better!
I use a combination of mindfulness practices, spiritual principles (specially Buddhist philosophy), positive psychology tools, clinical hypnotherapy and ancient healing practices like Ayurveda in curating personalised approaches for each of my clients.
